SITUATION

In 2004, Espressocode was asked to design and implement a highly visible container tracking system integrating multiple interfaces and data sources.

Manual tracking of ocean containers was highly inefficient, leading to significant costs associated with improper status reports.

SOLUTION

Espressocode created a highly visible container tracking solution which significantly increased efficiency while dramatically reducing unnecessary demurrage and storage related charges.

By scrapping multiple interfaces and data sources and linking these to the Exdoc’s platform, Espressocode was able to offer a highly visible and mission critical container tracking system unrivaled in the industry. Providing live, real-time location tracking on shipments enabled the customer to significantly reduce unexpected delays thus leading to much improved order forecasting and on-demand purchasing.

Through the use of the Exdocs platform, status updates and exception reports are now easily created and disseminated to priority recipients in real time.

Storage and demurrage charges arising from shipments 'off schedule' have essentially been eliminated.
