COMPETITIVE BIDDING

In 2002 Exdocs developed a system for competitive bidding between specialized carriers creating excellent ROI for shippers. Carriers are emailed a request for bid which they follow to a simple web form where they can view the details of the shipment and enter their bid. Shippers can then view a complete list of bids and pick the most favorable.

In addition to bid management, the system features a groundbreaking interface which allows both shippers and carriers to see their entire business in a snapshot. The key to this is a load board, which the user can personalize, containing a list of shipment summaries. Clicking on a summary shows the full shipment details on the other half of the screen.

Users can create items, locations and preferences from simple forms and then access this information from dropdowns on the more complex shipment entry screen. Carrier groups can be managed making tenders consistent and efficient and new carriers can be invited directly from the system. The system also includes integral document generation, status updates which are then sent out by email and a messaging system within the software which updates all users on everything from new carriers to the availability of shipping equipment.
