SITUATION

In 2006, Espressocode was asked to design and implement a real-time, live, tracking and scheduling system integrating multiple satellite-tracking systems, and unique data interfaces through one portal.

Data sharing was limited and scheduling was extremely inefficient due to inaccurate information being passed to project managers. Lack of accurate positioning was leading to significant delays in project completion due to equipment and supply mismanagement. Workplace safety controls were entirely manual.

SOLUTION

Espressocode created a real-time, GPS integrated system which would allows for accurate scheduling of equipment and supplies.

By integrating multiple satellite-tracking systems through one portal, and offering accurate and real-time positioning of equipment and supplies, Espressocode was able to offer superior communication tools to the end user. Precise scheduling of upcoming shipments allowed for a significant reduction in warehoused supplies, dramatically increased throughput and notably decreased project completion time.

Through the use of Exdocs, real-time tracking of en-route shipments allowed for significant improvements in scheduling and support. By linking multiple data interfaces onto one portal, Espressocode offered superior data retrieval to project managers.

Project delays arising from inaccurate positioning and scheduling were essentially eliminated.

Additional automated safety protocols were implemented without an increase in labour costs.
